Asked what had happened to his leg Gono joked: “I was tired of the team [Warriors] failing to qualify so I went into practice; instead of going for the ball I went for the man”.

Gono was attending the reconvened 3rd Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders of the African Export-Import Bank at Rainbow Towers. Later he said, he fractured his leg at his farm while taking some investors on a tour. He was put on plaster and is working from home. Gono’s injury had been kept under wraps although it has been a subject of speculation on social networks.
