The facility, which runs from December 21 until January 6 next year, is aimed at curbing the problem of drunken driving.

RTG Sales Manager, Leisure Patriciah Rusike told Standard Life&Style they sought to promote township tourism as well as reduce carnage on the roads during the festive season.

“The tradition is we all travel to our rural homes but this time around we are saying bring your parents and relatives around and we host them this Christmas,” said Rusike.

“Since it is a festive season, we have realised people want to drink a lot and basically, what we are saying is come and drink safely.

“We have rooms for US$99 that will be coupled with limitless traditional snacks and beverages at selected bars.”

She said they would increase their bars’ operating time to make sure that they enhanced the party mood.

Rusike said the package would also include free entertainment and a free internet connection.

Participating hotels are Rainbow Towers, Kadoma Hotel and Conference Centre, Bulawayo Rainbow Hotel and Ambassador Hotel.

“We also have the facility for two which has been pegged on a mere US$149, which is far less than normal,” said Rusike.

“Normally, at this time of the year it’s the resorts that are fully-booked so we are also trying to make sure that for the few that do not leave town and those that come to town, there is something to enjoy as well,” she said.
