TAURAI Musakaruka is the new chairman of the Chitungwiza Pool League after a hotly contested election at an annual general meeting held last week.

The new executive has been put in place to speed up preparations for the season’s opening gala set for this morning at Springview Bar in Unit J, as well as the pool league which is set to kickstart a week after the gala.
Musakaruka shrugged off the challenge from six other candidates who were vying for the post.
Other executive members include the vice-chairman Albert Nyikadzino who retained his post.
Also retaining his position in the new executive was secretary general Takesure Tendai, fixture secretary Paul Dzenga as well as head referee Tichaona Matyatya. Ignatius Hakurekwi was roped in as the new treasurer while Noremore Magaya was elected as the committee member.
