Veteran junior coach Linsent Chitiyo will travel with the players. The tournament that caters for the Under-14 and Under-16 will run from June 10 to 15 and will feature five other African countries — South Africa, Madagascar, Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia.

The sole winner of the tournament will represent the continent at the finals of the World Tennis Tournament to be held in Czech Republic later this year.

Machisa and Bhunu, who is the younger sister to former Zimbabwe Open winner, were invited by the International Tennis Federation, following good performances at the Africa Junior Championships in Kenya in April.

Machisa won the Zimbabwe Closed girls Under-18 held at Harare Sports Club while Kaome qualified for the event via play-offs as the team is supposed to be made up of three players to enable them to compete in the doubles.

Tennis Zimbabwe (TZ) administrator Cliff Nhokwara expressed confidence that the trio will do well in Tunisia.

If the Zimbabwe trio qualifies, they join Australia, Canada, Colombia, India, Japan, Peru, Thailand and US who have already booked places from their respective continents.
