Sam Musimbo scored the all important goal for the Moses Chunga-led side in the 70th minute to send the Lowveld side into the promised land of top flight league. Second-placed Mutare City Rovers also beat Acturus Mine 3-0 at Sakubva Stadium but the win could not stop Hippo from snatching the sole ticket available for promotion.

The win for Hippo Valley saw them clocking 63 points from 25 matches with five matches to play while second-placed Rover have collected 49 points from the same number of games and also still have five matches to play.

Hippo are now assured of an assailable 66 points as they are going to be awarded three points from their week 28 fixture against Grain Masters who were booted out of the league for failing to fulfill their fixtures.
