Mdc leader Professor Welshman Ncube did not go into hibernation after the 2013 elections, but simply went back to the drawing board to craft a roadmap to the 2018 elections that will usher in a new democratic leadership for Zimbabwe.

The MDC family should brace for exciting times ahead as the devolution team begins a long-awaited journey to the promised land.

We are a social democratic party that takes instructions from the people of Zimbabwe, respects democracy and human rights.

The 2013 elections came and went but what is clear is that it was not an Mdc election year since everything was tilted in favour of Zanu pf.

We took half a year to reflect and re-organise ourselves since the 2013 national elections, taking suggestions, instructions and advice from the people of Zimbabwe.

The Movement for Democratic Change used the 2013 elections as a spring board to win the 2018 elections. We are in the process of sharpening our spears for the real battle in 2018.

We now have a juicy and exciting programme for our members and supporters that will go a long way towards boosting the morale of the troops ahead of the 2018 elections.

The Mdc President Ncube and his team crafted an election winning strategy that will create seats for the green team in the house of assembly.

We have no plans as the Mdc to abandon the devolution agenda now or any day in future.

Critics of the devolution agenda have evil intentions to cripple our good intention of speeding the social, political and economic transformation plan that will present equal opportunities for everybody in all sectors.

The strategic silence after the 2013 general elections was misconstrued by others to mean hiding but we thought it was of paramount importance to listen to echoes from the mountains before making any blind move.

We listened and noted all the suggestions and proposals made by various stakeholders and packaged them for good use. We would like to thank those who constructively criticised us and the many friends who provided both material and morale support during and after the elections.

It is our desire as a people-driven political party to make sure that we deliver political change to Zimbabweans in 2018.

We have put in place a strategic plan to motivate and correct wrong perceptions about Ncube and the party.

We are collectively appealing to our supporters and members to expect a change of fortune in 2018. A well-oiled machinery has been put in place to ensure victory for Ncube and the Mdc as a party.

The mdc will this time not leave any stone unturned to make sure that it forms a new government in 2018.

The dribbling towards goal has started and a number of modern political strategies have been packaged to make sure that we do not prolong the Zanu pf’s continuous cling to political power. The Mdc will not put in place laws that suppress or block foreign direct investments or laws that empower the already rich and politically powerful.

An MDC government will deliver a devolved state that will see local people benefitting from local resources.

It is our wish as the mdc government to make sure that a new Zimbabwe and a new political and economic culture is delivered.

We are not going to fail the supportive, committed and brave people of Zimbabwe.

Time for leadership renewal in Zimbabwe has arrived but it needs unity of purpose, respect and political maturity among Zimbabweans for us to take Zimbabwe out of the political and economic doldrums.

Our desire is to see a united, democratic and corruption free Zimbabwe with a viable economy that caters for all.

The mdc President and his team are not opposed to the idea of a united front with other like-minded pro-democracy movements.

We have noted with great concern the misleading statements made at political gatherings by some political leaders on the issue of a grand coalition.

We have a serious political plan of action meant to take Zimbabwe forward instead of listening to habitual noise makers and cheap propaganda about a non-existent grand coalition.

We respect the individual decisions made by some of our former comrades and will never block anyone from joining a political party of his or her choice.

I am glad to officially and fearlessly announce that serious preparations for the 2018 national elections have reached an advanced stage and our focus as a serious political party with a serious leadership is on winning the 2018 plebiscite.
