Thabani Kamusoko rescued FC Platinum from the jaws of defeat by heading home an injury time equaliser against 10-man Chiredzi FC at Chishamiso stadium yesterday.

Chiredzi FC, who came into the match as underdogs, defied all odds after producing a stunning performance against their more illustrious opponents.

Munyaradzi Chiwara scored the fasted goal of this season after only 30 seconds into the match as Chiredzi FC raced into the lead.

Chiwara benefitted from a Tapiwa Dephistara cross.

Kamusoko scored three minutes into injury time after heading home Raphael Muduviwa’s corner kick.

Chiredzi FC goalie Simon Kafitire was given his marching orders in the 38th minute following an off the ball altercation with FC platinum player Marshall Mudewe.

Moses Chunga’s side dominated the first half with Dephistara dictating the proceedings. FC Platinum’s first real chance came in the 25th minute after Walter Musona failed to deliver on a face to face situation with Kafitira who safely collected the ball.

In the 70th min, Dephistara, who had a good game, toasted Quadr Amini on the right flank before sending a weak cross to substitute Sam Musimbo who headed wide.

Seven minutes later, Musimbo left his markers for dead but he again failed to beat FC Platinum goalkeeper Talbert Shumba.
