“People always describe me as nomadic and that is not good at all. Why should I be confined to Harare? Am I a contagious disease like cholera that should be quarantined? I am in Chiredzi to develop football and that is what I am doing.”

These words were uttered by Chiredzi United coach Moses Chunga ahead of his struggling club’s clash against champions Dynamos at Chishamiso this afternoon.
Though Chunga refuses to admit, he is a well-travelled coach and this time he has landed in the Lowveld where he is now at the helm of Chiredzi United.
In one of his many stints with different clubs, Chunga was at CAPS United where Dynamos coach Kalisto Pasuwa understudied him.
But today, the two coaches face each other in a battle pitting tutor and protégé.
“This is a high-profile match for the people of Chiredzi and it goes a long way in fulfilling my dream of developing football in every area in Zimbabwe. I am also proud of Pasuwa’s achievements since we last worked together,” he said.
“Some people say nothing good can come out of Moses Chunga, but I am the one who took Nyasha Mushekwi from basketball and also helped in the development of Pasuwa’s coaching career,” he said.

However, sitting second from bottom, things have not been rosy for Chunga in the Lowveld. His cash-strapped side has managed just a single win and two draws in eight matches played so far.
“We want to win this match and it is also a dream come true for the people of Chiredzi to watch Dynamos in action. After the 3-0 loss to Shabanie in the last game, we expect a positive result. It will be good to pick up points against a big team like Dynamos,” he said.
Chunga might however have to make do without David Temwanjira who is injured.
While things are not looking that promising for Chunga, the same can also be said for Pasuwa whose side is sitting on an unfamiliar seventh position having won four games and lost three.
Pasuwa goes into the match buoyed by the 1-0 win over FC Platinum which however came with a lot of controversy.
“The problem is that we are not converting the chances that are coming our way. The victory against FC Platinum came at the right time as we had gone for many matches without a victory,” Pasuwa said.
Elsewhere, log leaders Highlanders travel to Mutare for a date with Buffaloes at Sakubva while third-placed Hwange host Shabanie Mine at the Colliery.
