Lifaqane Nare became the vice-chairperson also unopposed while Martha Mashonganyika is the new treasurer.

Mafunda, who was the deputy chairman until yesterday, took over from Southern Eye deputy editor Njabulo Ncube who has been at the helm of the institution.

ZIFM Stereo head of news Kelvin Jakachira and Harare Correspondent for the German Press Agency Columbus Mavhunga were elected committee members.

The two beat fellow contestants Annastacia Ndlovu and Valentine Maponga to take up the two positions.
