The win over Rooneys took their points tally to four, setting up an explosive final berth against Metro Devere who amassed a total of three points after settling for a nine all draw against Zimoco in their last match yesterday. Metro beat Rooneys in their first match on Friday.

The tournament ran from Friday and ends today.

Sambok raced to a 3-0 lead in the first chukker. A chukker is a term used to refer to the period of play in polo with each lasting for seven-and-half minutes.

They doubled the advantage in the second chukker with Rooney’s Smart Kuusawa pulling a goal back.

In the third chukker, veteran horseman Jonny Campbell was in top form, scoring three goals as his team took a 9-1 lead. By the time Tom De Bruin scored in the fourth chukker to make it 10-1, the match was already over as a contest.

Rooneys scored their second goal in the last chukker. The Sambok team had 15-year-old James Crowe, old war horse of Zimbabwean polo Campbell, his nephew Richard Taylor and De Bruin.

Rooneys had Thomas Wood, Kuusawa, Terence Spilsbury and Jono Passsaportis.
