Premier Soccer League (PSL) side Buffaloes are not happy with Mutare City Council for conducting “half-baked” renovations at Sakubva Stadium.

The facility was condemned by the PSL grounds committee last month for failing to meet required standards to host premiership matches.
With less than a week left before the 2015 league campaign kicks off, this could force Buffaloes to play their matches outside Mutare this season.
Buffaloes secretary general Arnold Gatsi said they were pushing Mutare City Council to speed up the renovations.
“We are pushing them. We have less than a week remaining before the new season starts and we are hopeful that everything would have been addressed,” he said.
According to the inspection report from the PSL grounds committee, there is need to improve the pitch, stadium security wall and replace the steel goalposts .
A visit by Standardsport last week at the stadium further exposed the City Fathers’ reluctance to fully renovate the facility. The security wall remains untouched while the pitch has overgrown grass.

A council employee at the stadium confirmed that they have one lawn-mower which is not functioning. The goal posts are yet to be replaced.
Refurbishment work has been done in the changing rooms, but they are just piecemeal renovations.
Mutare Mayor Tatenda Nhamarare was not reachable for comment.
The grounds committee is set to conduct their final inspection in the next coming days and PSL chief executive Kenny Ndebele recently said they were not hesitating to order the team using Sakubva to find an alternative home ground.
