“My fans can expect great new things from me and I will play some of the new songs at the gig in Southerton,” said Chipfumo.

Often underrated, Chipfumo is one of Zimbabwe’s finest musicians, having made his name as a member of Hohodza Band in the 1990s.

He remained in Zimbabwe when several members of Hohodza moved to the UK, and carried on with his musical career, which, despite being mired by controversy, was successful. He has showcased his talent productions that carried deep, well-thought social commentary lyrics and unique instrumentation that earned him a name among top Zimbabwean musicians.

During the UK tour, Chipfumo said he was so excited to have a brief reunion with some former members of Hohodza, including his ex-boss Portia Gwanzura.
