The two butcheries, one situated along Leopold Takawira and another one in the Avenues along Selous Avenue, have proved to be the best in terms of supplying premium grade beef and other kinds of meat.

Great-Dyke-1 “Our ranch houses herds of some of the country’s best beef cattle. While our butcheries bring convenience and value for money,” said butchery supervisor Tinashe Zengeni.

He said since hygiene and food safety in a butchery were critically important, The Great Dyke Ranch and Butchery were subject to all standards and regulations of the Health Act

“Hygiene is the main feature for customers,” he said. “In butchery, it’s all about customer service. You treat people how you like to be treated.”

The new butchery facilities include the latest state-of-the-art machinery that produces sausage, mince and other meat products.

What separates the butchery from many others sprouting in town is that steak meat products can be vacuum packed.

“We are bringing in a new dimension in the local retail butchery industry. We now vacuum pack steak upon a customer’s request,” the supervisor said.

Besides beef, the butchery stocks other meat products that include quail birds, chicken (road runners and broilers), goat meat and mutton, among others.

The Great Dyke Ranch and Butchery which opened its doors to the public a week ago has expanded its wings and is engaging local restaurants and hotels.

“We are engaging those in the hospitality industry to come and make orders with us. Our butchery along Selous Avenue sells meat products at wholesale prices and members of the public and companies are all welcome,” the supervisor said.
