After giving a sterling performance at the late Sam Mtukudzi’s tribute concert on Friday, fans are guaranteed of another thriller at tonight’s show, which is Macheso’s last performance before the release of his much awaited six-track album titled Tsoka Dzerwendo tomorrow.

The Madhawu hit-maker is expected to present snippets from his forthcoming album. Despite starving his fans for almost three years, the musician had been drawing huge crowds at live shows. Fans have fond memories of his yesteryear hits — Mundikumbuke, Madhuwe and Sarah — which stood the test of time.

Wedza Spacemen Bar owner Charles Matsika told The Standard Style that he was excited to be hosting Macheso before he unleashes his new offering.

“Macheso is a great artist and I believe he is now on top of his game having maintained his relevance,” Matsika said. “I urge fans to come in their numbers and witness their favourite musician belting out some tracks from his new album, Tsoka Dzerwendo.”

Macheso’s manager Tich Makahamadze said there would be surprise acts at the show and urged fans to come in their numbers.

“It is so encouraging that our shows are being well-attended and we want to thank our music lovers for their support,” Makahamadze said.

Meanwhile, 100 00 copies of Macheso’s forthcoming album, Tsoka Dzerwendo will be released into the market tomorrow. Jive Zimbabwe director Benjamin Nyandoro said all logistics had been put in place to make sure that the album was found in all corners of Zimbabwe and South Africa tomorrow morning.

“Our teams coordinated by Zimbabwe Red Cross Society and Nash Paints will be all over the country selling Tsoka Dzerwendo CDs,” Nyandoro said.

“We are releasing 100 000 copies tomorrow and by end of the week, we would have distributed more into the market.” l See Macheso interview on Page S4.
