“We have re-modelled our line of business to meet global hospitality trends,” Cresta Hotels chief executive Glenn Stutchbury told The Standard Style. “Our new model focusses on accommodation, banqueting and conference services.”

Stutchbury said catering will be done for banqueting and conferences while guests staying at the hotel can access food through a new feature – dial-a-delivery service.

Boasting 123 air-conditioned bedrooms with en-suite and bath, Cresta Jameson has become a favourite rendezvous for conferences.

“We are one of the most conveniently located hotels in Harare. We have the best conference and banqueting facilities,” Stutchbury said.

The hotel has six conference rooms named after the country’s major rivers – Zambezi, Sanyati, Odzi, Sabi, Limpopo and Sabi-Limpopo — all WiFi connected.

“The conference facilities and WiFi connectivity to ensure a successful business trip,” said the chief executive. “We also host social events — weddings, birthday parties, anniversary celebrations, product launch and cocktail parties. We also offer outside catering services, which have proved to be one of our strongest areas.”

Apart from accommodation, banqueting and conferences, Cresta Jameson Hotel has other facilities that include a swimming pool, car park, Afro-jazz bar and salon.

“We have a car park for our guests’ convenience and this includes a basement car park. The swimming pool on the second floor is available for our guests staying in the hotel.”

Stutchbury said the hotel offered good value for money.

“You will realise that the hotel is able to offer rates that are among the most competitive for quality services in Harare,” he said.

The Afro-jazz bar — Usual Place — is also a popular hangout joint for guests and patrons. It offers entertainment on Thursdays and Fridays.

“We have hosted some of the country’s best jazz artists. Just recently, Rute Mbangwa gave a memorable show at the bar and we hope to bring in more jazz artists,” Stutchbury said.

The Usual Place also serves lunch from Monday to Friday and the dishes include African traditional cuisines.

Stutchbury said Cresta Jameson riding on its vast hospitality experience thrives to deliver a service that exceeds customer expectations.
