United Family International Church (UFIC) youthful pastor Michael Mahendere is set to launch his much-anticipated third 10-track album titled Break Through (Getting Personal With God 3) later this month in Harare.

Easily the quick-rising piece of the once-famed fraternal ensemble Mahendere Brothers, the Direct Worship choral group frontman’s past two albums widened his fan base equally, gaining him recognition nationwide.
In an interview with The Standard Style, the youngest of the Mahenderes said the new album adopted a mature approach from the last project while promising a good listen to their fans.
“On this one, our music is a bit more mature from last time because we adopted different languages like Ndebele and English to accommodate different audiences as we have noticed that our fan base is rising,” he said.
Mahendere, who gave credit to Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa for streaming their music on his channel Christ TV, hence broadening their international reach, added that he had embraced a new feel to the music.
“Besides the informative lyrics, we have also added brass and violin tunes which are going to take fans to much higher levels of praise and worship so they should listen to the songs when they are released,” he said.
Some of the songs to look out for include, Chiiko? in which he collaborated with South African gospel music icon Loyiso Bala as well as Masimba, a duet he did with his wife.

“We have already sampled some of the songs during live shows like at the recent Winter Worship Festival and the reaction from fans was good because the album has variety,” said Mahendere.
Although the date for the release is yet to be finalised, Mahendere said the songs would be sold online first in the build-up to the event where CDs would be sold.
He promised to produce videos for some of the tracks on the new album. A live DVD shoot is also slated for October.
