REJUVENATED Harare giants, Dynamos, will be hoping to maintain their six-match unbeaten run when they clash with the Sunday Chidzambwa-coached ZPC Kariba at Rufaro Stadium today.

After a difficult start to their league campaign, Dynamos have managed to dig themselves out of the hole, putting together five wins on the trot and rising up to fourth position in the log standings with 24 points ahead of today’s encounter.
ZPC Kariba, who trail Dynamos by two points in fifth place, are no pushovers, coached by legendary former Dynamos player and coach Chidzambwa. At one time they occupied third position in the league race.
“As Dynamos, we need to maintain our unbeaten run and also the good form that we have been enjoying in the past couple of months, so we are looking for a positive result today,” assistant coach Murape Murape said.
Murape said they we are not under pressure to win this game despite a draw against How Mine on Thursday.
“We are not under any pressure because for us to be where we are today means we have been working hard, because only a month or two ago we were at number 16. For us to be number four, I think it’s motivating for us and it’s something which is positive within the team,” he said.

In what will surely be sweet music in the ears of DeMbare fans, returning midfielder Denver Mukamba (pictured) is set to feature in the blue and white stripes after his clearance papers arrived during the week.
“Denver could have played in a midweek fixture against How Mine, but we decided not to risk him, considering how physical How Mine are in their approach. But tomorrow Denver will definitely play,” the former Dynamos captain said.
However, Ocean Mushure is out of the match due to injury.
Murape said, as Dynamos, are not happy with where we are in the league as the season goes into the first half break.
“We are not happy because we haven’t won the league; we can only be happy if we are number one. At the moment we are on number four; we are trying to build a team and trying also to get back from a disastrous start of the season,” he said.
ZPC Kariba have a better head to head record against the former champions since they were promoted into the top-flight league in 2013. In four matches, the Kariba-based side have won twice, lost once and drawn once against DeMbare.
In Zvishavane, third placed FC Platinum who are smarting from a 3-0 hammering in Hwange last week, would try to bring their campaign back on track with a home date against Bulawayo City this afternoon.
So far they have only lost twice and will be hoping for a victory this afternoon to keep within touching distance of the top two teams — Highlanders and CAPS United.
However, the problematic area for the miners has been the midfield and Norman Mapeza’s decision to use Gerald Takwara sparingly in this campaign might have been the biggest disservice to his charges.
Takwara is arguably one of the best midfield anchorman playing in the local league. The 21-year-old drew comparisons to yesteryear greats the likes of Tinashe Nengomasha and Benjamin Nkonjera while at Tsholotsho and was quickly drafted into the Warriors fold.
