It’s a period in which the former champions have found the target just two times in 540 minutes of football, dropping 13 points in the process.

After a disastrous start to the season where the Glamour boys once occupied 14th position for several weeks under Portuguese gaffer Paulo Jorge Silva, Lloyd Mutasa (pictured) who took over from the foreign coach swiftly steered the team out of danger.

On the afternoon of July 10, an impressive 2-0 win over bottom team Border Strikers suddenly proclaimed Dynamos as genuine title contenders as they rose to fourth position but that was the last time they tasted victory.

Since then a possible title challenge was aborted after the team embarrassingly lost to basement side Border Striker in the reverse fixture amid reports of dissent between the players and the coaches.

While club president Kenny Mubaiwa publicly backed the current technical team lead by Mutasa, it is difficult to fathom the former Kiglon coach surviving the axe should DeMbare lose today.

More ominous for Mutasa and company is the fact that Harare City played arguably their best match of the season last week dismissing Border Strikers with a brand of football that was delightful to the eye.

But Harare City coach Moses Chunga refused to look into last week’s performance.

“We take each game as it comes. We are busy looking at how best we can break the Dynamos defence. Maybe we will keep the winning team from last week but I always like to keep you guessing,” said the former Dynamos coach.

Harare City have failed to beat Dynamos in a league game in seven attempts since they were promoted in 2012.
