BULAWAYO — Top South African kwaito group, Big Nuz is expected to bring the house down in Bulawayo when it stages a one off show at the Large City Hall on Friday.
The group is currently top of the charts with its hit album Undisputed.
The song Umlilo (The Fire) has become a national anthem in both Bulawayo and Harare.
The groups’ three lead artists include Mandla Maphumulo, Mzi Tshomela and Sbu Khomo.
“This is set to be the first show of the year for the group in Bulawayo,” said Possenti Sikhosana, one of the promoters.
“The group itself is excited to be visiting Bulawayo because they appreciate that they have quite a following in Bulawayo and in other cities across the country.”
Other acts lined up for the night include some of Bulawayo’s top DJs.
“We have selected DJs from around Bulawayo who will come and show the crowd we expect to throng the Large City Hall the stuff they are made of”.
He said they were looking at hosting a jazz show in the next few months to cater for the “mature crowd”.
The show is expected to be held during the Easter holiday.
Another show is lined up for the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) 2010 period.
Big Nuz is fresh from a tour of the United Kingdom where they are said to have left an indelible mark on the entertainment scene.
The group was formed 2002 and they were based in Johannesburg where they moved from one studio to another in search of a recording contract.
