Made must stick to own ministry PDF Print E-mail

I was shocked by a recent article in which Minister of Agriculture, Dr Joseph Made, said the government has banned all food handouts by Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs). If that is what Made announced, then he must be out of his mind. Made must come to his senses and realise that his role as Minister of Agriculture is to promote agricultural production and food self-sufficiency.
Feeding people after a poor season is the responsibility of the ministry responsible for social welfare. Why then does he want to take over other ministers’ responsibility as if he is managing his own ministry efficiently?
Made’s move is obviously another of Zanu PF’s dirty attempts to influence election results. It is inhuman. I hope the democratic elements in the Government of National Unity (GNU) will advise Made that his attempt is “null and void”.
If food-for-work programmes are to be introduced, this has nothing to do with Made, and an assessment of the situation should be undertaken.
