THE state media in cahoots with the intelligence agency, the CIO, has been running stories that the Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai and his party are responsible for the on-going strike by the civil servants.
However, what I find alarming is that the same state media is always quoting Robert Mugabe as the head of state, government and the Defence Forces. So it is rather shocking that the state media would like to lay the blame on Tsvangirai’s doorstep when we have a head of government and state who should squarely shoulder the blame for the strike. However, what the state media is failing to tell the people of Zimbabwe is that PM Tsvangirai is one of the key leaders that the civil servants have faith in, in improving their lives and not President Mugabe. Fat cats in Zanu PF are busy looting diamonds at Chiadzwa when the diamonds’ proceeds should be channelled to paying government debts and paying the salaries of civil servants. The strike by the civil servants has shown that it is nothing but a creation of Zanu PF and the CIO intended to divert focus from the massive looting of the country’s natural resources by the rejected party.
