GAYS have won a victory in Malawi through coercion and arm-twisting of the Malawi government. Malawi succumbed to extreme pressure from the USA, Great Britain and Europe in general assisted by the secretary-general of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon.
If the United Nations and western nations were as united as they are against the trampling of human rights in Africa as they have been united against the trampling of gay rights, Africa would have very few political prisoners.
It is quite pleasing to note Ban can flex his muscles. However the man should be ashamed that he has been successful only at arm-twisting a small and weak country like Malawi. Why is he not flexing his muscles at countries like Burma, Somalia, Zimbabwe, etc where human rights have been eroded? Has the secretary-general of the UN ever succeeded in having any prisoners from other countries, released on presidential pardon?
The Malawi gay couple knowingly broke the law against gay marriage; the pair was tried in a competent court of law, found guilty and sentenced according to the constitution of Malawi.
Many Burmese, for example, have been thrown into prisons or put on indefinite house arrest without any semblance of a trial before a judge. Thousands of Zimbabweans have lost their lives over the last 30 years or so of independence without a single person being charged for the deaths — yet the entire western world and the UN have found it fit to fight for the rights of gays.
Africa, beware of “gayonolisation” (a form of colonisation). Why is the West so interested in sponsoring gay couple marriages and practices? The West is well known for long-term planning — with millions of Africans dying of diseases and wars, Africa will have no replacement for its dead if the entire continent is inhabited by unproductive gays.
Gays, for their part, should not crow at all for having won recognition of their unholy war because their actions are diverting attention from more serious human rights abuses all over the world. They are forcing their own acquired sexual preference on African countries.
They have even been spreading falsehoods that gays are born gays. If it is a genetic thing how then can one decide to stop being gay at the age of 30 years as declared by a white gay interviewee on the Tyra Banks talk show — SABC-3 a couple of weeks ago? Malawi is a disgrace to the African continent. It has joined a few of the misguided countries which have embraced gays in their constitutions.

Sexual minorities are called that for a reason. They never constitute m*re than about 3-6% of any population in the world. Now, or historically, as far as we can determine. So "taking over the world" is simple hogwash.
There's no forcing going on - at least from the gay side. They exist, and they have a right to live their lives like anyone else, free from hara*sment or worse, as long as they - like anyone else - don't "frighten the horses".
In this country, where hatred and demonisation of "the other" have become standard political weapons, how sad that F. Mhlanga seeks to continue the pattern of lies, hurt, divisiveness and malice.
