MAYBE The Standard you can help. I work at a company that sells dairy products from Zimbabwe in Harare South.
We sell all that Dairibord and other suppliers make. But there is not enough milk for them to make more dairy products to meet market demand. My company has been bringing in cheese and butter from South Africa to cover the deficit. For three months now government has banned imports of these products because of an outbreak of Rift Valley Fever in South Africa. Many people came to South Africa for the World Cup and presumably ate these dairy products but no illness or deaths were reported in newspapers; so why this ban? I have eight children to look after and for three months now my money has been running low because there has been nothing to sell. I can’t look after my children well without a steady source of income. Why should we suffer because of an inconsiderate decision by a government that pretends to be concerned about people? — Please help us.
