THE Zimbabwe Rugby Union last week named two provisional squads for the 15s and sevens national teams mostly made up of locally-based players.



, Helvetica, sans-serif”>The sevens team, the Cheetahs, go on a European tour to the United Kingdom and Holland next week, after which interest will shift to the 15s side which entirely comprises locally based players.


Whether key foreign-based players will be available for the Sables in the early World Cup qualifying matches remains to be seen as the campaign progresses. On paper, the local-based players chosen look set to sail past either Senegal or Zambia in the first round.
