RENOWNED Zimbabwean economist and banker Wellington Chadehumbe will officiate at this year’s FBC-sponsored Zimbabwe Independent Banks and Banking Survey set for Thursday next week at the Crowe Plaza in Harare.
umbe, the founder and chief executive officer of Triumph Venture Capital based in South Africa, will present a keynote address at the prestigious survey presentation, whose theme this year is “Rethinking Banking”.
The survey magazine, to be distributed free with the Independent next week, is an insightful study of the country’s banking industry and related institutions.
Triumph Venture manages South Africa’s Intellectual Property Fund, a fund that invests in companies dealing with innovative technologies and have global expansion potential.
Chadehumbe is former vice-president of the Southern Africa Enterprise Development Fund before launching Triumph in 2001.
He was also head of the investment department of the Merchant Bank of Central Africa. Between 1993-96 he was president of the Zimbabwe Economics Society.
In the latter capacity he provided economic commentary in the local media and presented papers at numerous conferences in Zimbabwe, the Sadc region and internationally on various aspects of the Zimbabwean economy.
Chadehumbe is a trained investment banker and venture capitalist.
He holds three degrees a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Economics, a Master of Science degree in Economics and an MBA. — Staff Writer.
