GLEN Norah MP Priscilla Misihairabwi-Mushonga was yesterday arrested for allegedly threatening a resident.
i-Mushonga’s lawyer Aleck Muchadehama said the legislator was called to the Glen Norah police station for questioning and then transferred to Harare Central’s Law and Order Section.
He said the legislator was accused of contravening Section 7b of the Miscellaneous Offences Act, Chapter 9.15. She was refleased last night without charge.
Misihairabwi-Mushonga is alleged to have threatened to shoot a resident in Glen Norah.
Muchadehama said police had searched her house for a pistol and found nothing. Police had then proceeded to the MDC’s Glen Norah offices to search for the weapon.
Police spokesman Wayne Bvudzijena denied that the MP had been arrested. She had been called to assist police investigations about violent clashes that happened in Glen Norah on Monday, he said.
