Sport scribes don’t know

THE Herald’s caption in the sports pages of September 13 was unbelievable – “South Africa edge Bangladesh in one-day cricket international”.

This could not be a b

etter example of just how little some of our sports reporters know and understand about the game of cricket.

South Africa won this game in 17,5 overs by 9 wickets. Defeats in cricket do not come much heavier than this! Perhaps some of our sports scribes simply don’t know that they don’t know?
