DESPITE his divorce being finalised just three months ago, Sir Paul McCartney has written a love song for ex-wife Heather Mills.
Surprisingly the lyrics on ballad My Soul, which is a collaboration with electronic musician Nitin Sawhney, show a great deal of affection towards Heather, who is the mother of his four-year-old daughter Beatrice.
They recall how Heather rescued the Beatles legend from dark days after his first wife Linda died from breast cancer in 1998.
And the song also seems to blame other people, possibly the paparazzi, for the breakdown of their relationship and refers to secrets that may have caused issues for the couple.
Heather’s past was dragged up as the marriage broke down in 2006 and details of her alleged life as a high class call girl emerged, as did soft porn pictures taken in the early days of the former model’s career.
One line reads: “I long to know all your secrets, I want to walk through your fire. Light up my eyes with your smile.”
A friend of Sir Paul’s said: “What the song shows is that rather than feeling embittered towards Heather, Paul just feels sorry for her.
“He feels sorry that she was never able to tell him the full truth about her past life. He feels that their romance happened so fast and so publicly that a lot never really got said.
“Paul knows Heather is a complex person and deeply misunderstood —— but that she has hardly helped herself by being less than transparent about her life.” —— Mirror.
