JAY-Z, Justin Timberlake, Gwyneth Paltrow, Will Smith and Mary J Blige were just some of the big name stars who backed Obama’s campaign.    Jay-Z channelled black political heroes of the past, saying: “I need y’all to be really, really quiet for this. I need you to really understand what I’m telling you. Rosa Parks sat so Martin Luther King could walk. Martin Luther King walked so Obama could run. Obama’s running so we all can fly.”   Diddy, meanwhile, felt like it was the power of he himself that ensured Obama’s potential victory. He told the Associated Press: “I felt like my vote was the vote that put him into office. It was down to one vote. And that may not be true, but that’s how much power it felt like I had.”   The real-life Sean Combs queued up to cast his vote in a school in midtown Manhattan.Hundreds of thousands of people turned up to hear  Obama’s first public address in Chicago since winning the election, including Oprah Winfrey.Mary J Blige said “I’ve been pulsating all day and now I feel like in full vibrational mode. I feel good. I feel like this is what we’ve wanted and hoped for, for the past 21 months.“This is a moment not just for Barack and his family but it is a moment for America.”It is thought there will be a celebrity bash after Obama’s inauguration in January. —— ITN.
