JAGUAR is associated with the rich and famous. According to Forbes magazine amongst the richest celebrities in 2008, 85% had a Jaguar or two among their fleet.

From wealthy footballers such as David Beckham, Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Ricardo Izecson dos Santos Leite better know as Kaka to basketballers – Lebron James, Kobe Bryant Allen Iverson and Kevin Garnett to hip hop stars Jay-Z, 50 Cent, P Diddy, Dr Dre and Timberland, fleets would not be complete without a Jaguar.

The model has moved to another level to keep pace with the celebrities expectations.

Jaguar has announced a new era in its sports car lineage — the all-new XK. Like all great Jaguar sports cars, the focus of the all-new XK is firmly on the future, while acknowledging the marque’s rich history.

It heralds a new era for Jaguar in terms of both design and engineering, and motor experts say it is the most technically advanced Jaguar ever built.

The all-new XK continues the Jaguar tradition of beautiful, powerful, ground-breaking sports cars, but behind its stunning looks, it bristles with practical, intuitive, modern technology, clearly focussed on enhancing the driving experience.

A major key to the all-new XK’s character is Jaguar’s industry-leading aluminium monocoque body structure, introduced with the latest XJ saloons.

With this unique high-tech construction method, the all-new XK’s bodyshell is 31% stiffer than the previous XK’s and significantly offers a 10% improvement in power to weight ratio. The all-new XK is up to 90% stiffer and 180kg lighter than key rivals, with a kerb weight of just 1595kg.

In the words of Jaguar’s Chief Engineer Mike Cross, in charge of the all-new XK’s vehicle dynamics: “What the team has looked to engineer is a sports car with true all-round ability. That means it must be fast, outstandingly agile, and truly exciting to drive.”

Premier Auto Services (PAS) business development director, Cosmas Marimo said: “the car was out of this world and a complete package”.

PAS recently signed a dealership agreement with Jaguar Land Rover that will enable them to import and sell complete vehicles and provide back-up service locally.

Other aspects of the agreement will see the extension of the franchise enabling Premier Auto Services selling branded Jaguar Land Rover goods in their outlets.

Medicom chief executive Andrew Muzamhindo said the “XF has expansively redefined Jaguar as a modern brand synonymous with style, substance and performance. The era of the sleek and seductive Jaguar is back.”

Jaguar Land Rover Regional Business Manager Nigel Clarke said the Jaguar was a giant leap forward in the motoring industry and a truly unique car that has got motoring enthusiasts buzzing with anticipation.
