Group protests company relocations

BY FORTUNE MOYO BULAWAYO — A pressure group, Ibhetshu Likazulu, is in the process of collecting signatures for a petition to leaders in the inclusive government to stop the tide of relocations of most major companies from Bulawayo to Harare.

The group says the relocation of these companies is a deliberate ploy to continue the marginalisation of people from Matabeleland. Mqondisi Moyo from Ibhetshu Likazulu told The Standard on Tuesday that the petition would raise the concerns on the relocation of most companies. “We are in the process of drafting a petition, which we will send to principals in the inclusive government because we are concerned about the continuous relocation of major companies from Bulawayo to Harare,” he said.
