Open letter to President Mugabe

Your contribution towards the liberation struggle is immeasurable. After Zimbabwe won her independence in 1980, your call for reconciliation and the need for black and white people to work together was most commendable.

The fact that our local currency was second to none in this region in terms of value and stability was a testimony to the viability of our economy. We were proud to be Zimbabweans. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about you today. You are now a feared leader. Fear breeds untruthfulness and it is this fear and deceit that has destroyed your once mighty party Zanu PF. Most of your lieutenants do not truly subscribe to the virtues and ideologies of your party, as it were. Instead, they regard your party as a conduit to instant riches. Some are openly saying they will never leave Zanu PF because it  allows them to amass wealth. Many of those who fall over each other to ingratiate themselves to you are fake and unreliable supporters with dubious tendencies, who want to milk this country dry in the name of your party. They decided to go against your noble one man-one-farm policy during the land redistribution exercise. If they had not gone against that policy, things would be different. But alas, they went ahead and grabbed as many farms as they could lay their hands on and the effect has been disaster all round. The confusion in the agricultural and mining sectors is a direct result of the elements that are using your party’s name to loot and enrich themselves.Mr President, you still have time to rescue this country from the jaws of these greedy individuals who have chosen not to listen, even to you. If you are still in charge of your party, you need to be listened to by your lieutenants. These praise-singers are the very people who would be quick to point out that they were doing whatever they did for the good of your party, and of course under your instructions. These are the very people who would be more than willing to rubbish your name when the time of reckoning comes. Your name will be soiled because of all the bad things said and done by the likes of Jabulani Sibanda, Jonathan Moyo, Patrick Chinamasa, Tafataona Mahoso, Rev Kunonga, Obert Mpofu and a host of other praise-singers in the name of your party, Zanu PF.
