DeMbare Zim Saints square off

Albert MARUFU ZIMBABWE Saints and Dynamos, who meet today in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match at Barbourfields, have one popular thing in common — they both wear the same blue stripes.

However, at the beginning of the season, Dynamos rejected nearly half of its team with most of them choosing the other blue side and joining Zimbabwe Saints.

Today five players, former captain Tafadzwa Maingire, Leo Kurauzvione, Isaac Pitamuja, Munyaradzi Diya and Phillip Sithole will have a chance to get back at their former paymasters for deeming them excess baggage when the two teams clash in Bulawayo.

The players have the potential to see Chauya Chikwata inflicting damage on a Dynamos side that is missing the services of key players Archford Gutu and Denvar Mukamba who are on trials in Bulgaria and South Africa respectively.

However, Dynamos coach Lloyd Mutasa is not intimidated by the loss of the star players.

“Denvar and Archie are good players who have managed to fit in the Dynamos system. However, their absence will not mean collapse of the team as we have equally good players.

“Players such as Tawanda Muparati and Timire Mamvura are good players that can be relied on and am sure that we will win the match,” he said.
