The Glamour Boys are ranked 233 on the planet ranking today from position 207 in April.
The global ranking released on Thursday shows that DeMbare, who were ranked the 12th best club in Africa in April, maintained that continental ranking but the picture was likely to change following the end of the Champions League.
Barcelona, who confirmed their status of the greatest club in the world following their merciless destruction of Manchester United in the Uefa Champions League last Saturday are perched at the summit of the Club World Ranking.
Dynamos and Motor Action are the only Zimbabwean clubs on the Club World Ranking due to their participation in the Champions League. The reigning premiership champions, the Mighty Bulls, who bowed out in the first round this year also took a tumble on the ranking, dropping from position 366 to 385 on the global ranking.
The Glamour Boys who tumbled out of the African Safari after going 3-0 down to Algeria’s MC Alger, in the ill-tempered match first round, second leg match are also losing their grip on the Club World Ranking.
DeMbare, currently ranked 12 in Africa, are likely to suffer another knock on the continental rankings, following the end of the Champions League. Sudan’s Al Hilal, going into the Champions League group stages on July 15, currently lead the continental ranking. Al Hilal are the best ranked club in Africa on the World Ranking as they are ranked in position 72 despite playing second fiddle to TP Mazembe on continental ranking. They occupied position 80 in April.
Democratic Republic of Congo’s TP Mazembe are still the best club on the continent and ranked in position 81 on the globe. Mazembe are likely to also fall heavily following their disqualification from the Champions League for fielding an ineligible player.

The Club World Ranking — a top 400 club ranking is compiled by the Germany-based International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS).The Confederation of African Football (CAF) ranked DeMbare the ninth best club on the continent late last year, which saw the club being given a preliminary round bye in the Champions League this year.
However, Dynamos will be happy that they are still recognised on the Club World Ranking owing to their success in the Champions League.
