Perfect pair of jeans to flatter one’s figure

Standard People
For each body type, there are jeans that flatter it by highlighting the best assets and bringing balance and proportion to the body. Before you go shopping, take your body shape into account so that you buy an appropriately fitting pair. Remember that when you dress, you want to bring balance to your body. The right pair of jeans will do this.

PEAR SHAPEYour hips are significantly wider than your shoulders so you need to bring balance and not have your hips look too disproportionate.

  • Darker washes have the best  slimming effect on you because they draw attention to your top half
  • The bootleg and flared jeans are the most flattering styles for you. They add just the right quantity of volume without overdoing it
  • You may wear skinny jeans but wear them with a long top, make sure the top does not end at your hips as this makes your hips look wider
  • Avoid detail on your hips and big pockets that will make your hips look even bigger

HOURGLASS SHAPEThe most coveted shape by women everywhere because your hips and bust are full and of equal width.

  • Flared or bootleg jeans look good on you as they bring balance to your frame
  • Straight leg jeans also balance you out
  • Steer clear of baggy jeans as they hide your curves and make you look frumpy
  • Be careful with skinny jeans because they may result in you having disproportionately slim looking legs. Wear them with a long top, not a baggy one though.

APPLE shapeYou carry the bulk of your weight on your abdomen and you have wide hips and full upper thighs.

  • Low-rise jeans are good for you as they start below your abdomen. Ensure the waist of the jeans is not too tight it causes a muffin top (fat that hangs over the waistband of the jeans, resembling a muffin spilling over the top of its case).
  • Skinny jeans will lengthen the bottom half and make you look slender.  Also wear with a long top.
  • Avoid wide leg trousers that will make you look even wider.

RECTANGLE shapeYou are boyish and straight with minimal curves. You have proportionately slim arms and legs.

  • Most of the styles of jeans out there work on you.
  • Look for darker washes with fading to add volume
  • Also look for jeans with detail on front and back pockets
  • You can also turn up jeans as they add a little width

Steer clear of anything too fitted.

SHORTStick to slim cuts like skinny jeans and straight legs

  • Ankle grazing styles also look good on you
  • Wear heels to elongate you
  • Pocket details are good too
  • Steer clear of baggy styles like boyfriend jeans as they will overwhelm you and make you look stocky.
