REIGNING Soccer Star, Charles Sibanda was arrested for assaulting Chicken Inn assistant coach Adam Ndlovu at Luveve yesterday. The FC Platinum midfielder Sibanda was whisked away by cops from Luveve Police Station after the match for allegedly assaulting Ndlovu in the dressing room.

The Chicken Inn camp claim that Sibanda poured urine in their dressing room before the altercation with Ndlovu and subsequent assault before kick off. It was a bad day for Ndlovu, who was red carded by referee Thomas Masa following a dispute over FC Platinum’s first goal in the 67th minute by substitute William Manondo.

Chicken Inn defender Herbert Dick equalised for the home side in added time to share spoils.

With the draw, FC Platinum jumped to summit, displacing log leaders Motor Action. FC Platinum have collected 42 points from 22 matches while the Mighty Bulls are on 41 points from 21 matches. The Bulls play Zimbabwe Saints at Barbourfields today.

Relegation-haunted Shooting Stars eased their drop zone worries when they defeated Masvingo United in a Castle Lager premiership match at Rufaro yesterday.

Striker William Kupera (22nd minute), Elliot Matsika (70th minute) and Francis Kanda (75th minute) were on target for the Wild Boys in a poorly attended match that saw less that 100 fans attending.

Though the win saw Shooting Stars moving two places up the log to position 13 with 21 points, they are not yet safe as they are only a point ahead of Shabanie Mine who are sitting on position 14. Shabanie Mine play hosts to Monomotapa at Maglas today.

Masvingo United were by far the better team, especially in the second half, but they conceded two goals, which can be attributed to mistakes by young goalkeeper Talent Sande.

Beaven Chirere had his moment in the 63rd minute but blazed his effort over the bar and three minutes later Pevington Zimunya had his shot from outside the box parried for a corner by goalkeeper Willard Manyatera.
