Cuthbert Malajila taunts Gunners

Sport
BY ALBERT MARUFURED-HOT Dynamos striker Cuthbert Malajila has taunted rivals Gunners ahead of this afternoon’s Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match at Lafarge. The Gunners/Dynamos tie is one of the matches lined up for this weekend that will also see CAPS United and Highlanders reigniting their rivalry at the giant National Sports Stadium.

However, it is the match pitting Dynamos and Gunners that is likely to be the major draw card of the weekend as it pits two coaches who have not tested defeat since their appointment at their respective teams.

Gunners coach Moses Chunga has been on a steam roll winning four of his five matches while Pasuwa has presided over Dynamos’ two victories over Shooting Stars (4-1) and Shabanie (2-0) with Malajila scoring in both matches.

Malajila, who has scored two goals in as many games since rejoining the Glamour Boys three weeks ago, said though Gunners have been playing well, they are not good enough to stop Dynamos.

“Gunners have been playing very well, but to us as Dynamos, this is just one of those games. We are definitely going to collect those three points,” he said.

Malajila said his team, like any team in the top four, still has a realistic chance of winning the championship.

However, Dynamos should not expect a stroll in the park against Gunners for, in addition to having one of the wisest coaching brains in the country in Moses Chunga, they have a youthful team that can match any team in the premiership.

The 2009 champions have posted impressive results since the reappointment of Chunga that saw them claiming the scalps of CAPS United, Black Mambas, Shooting Stars and Zimbabwe Saints with their only draw coming against Blue Ribbon.

However, the match has been robbed of its gloss following the non-availability of Gunners players Pardon Chinungwa and Munyaradzi Kunyarimwe while Dynamos miss the services of Tawanda Mparati and Milton Makopa, due to suspensions.

Gunners are set to rely on Ali Sadiki, Cliff Sekete, Leonard Fiyado and Hardlife Zvirekwi while DeMbare will look forward to Denver Mukamba, who seems to have rediscovered the form that made him a household name during early stages of the season. Also, in the wings is Archford Gutu, a player who on his day can prove to be a handful to any opponent.Bn academy, hyundai motors seal deal

BN Academy have sealed a deal with Hyundai Motors that will see more than 80 junior football players getting soccer balls each after a coaching course, set to commence tomorrow.

According to founder of the academy, Bheki Nyoni, the coaching course will be held at Belgravia Sports Club from August 29 to September 2.Four age groups with ages ranging from Under-11, 14, 16 and 18 will be accommodated at this coaching course after paying a fee of US$35 for the entire week.

“I had this deal on my hands but I said I have to share the cake with other underprivileged kids out there, hence we decided to organise four matches at the end of the coaching course.

“We are going to have four teams one in each category, which must be made of 15 players. Of all the 60 players that we are going to invite to play our boys, there are going to get a soccer ball each, courtesy of Hyundai Motors.

These balls will help to sharpen their skills in their spare time trying to put into practice what we would have taught them during the coaching courses,” Nyoni said.
