CASTLE premiership log leaders FC Platinum consolidated their lead at the top when they whacked Black Mambas at Mandava yesterday. With the win, the platinum miners took their tally to 49 points from 25 matches. Motor Action are still trailing on 43 points from 25 matches and yesterday failed to pick a point after going down to Blue Ribbon.

Donald Ngoma scored first for FC Platinum in the 21st minute before Simon Njeleza added another in the 56th minute. Speedy striker Benjamin Marere sealed the scoring in the 60th minute. Mambas got their goal from Peter Kachirika in the 52nd minute.

Reigning premiership champions Motor Action’s hopes of retaining the championship continue to slip by the day after they fell to Blue Ribbon in a league match at Motor Action Sports Club yesterday.

Eria Phiri scored the priceless goal in the 59th minute after rounding off goalkeeper Marlon Jani to fire into the nets. The goal brought life into the few but noisy group of Dynamos supporters who were clearly supporting Blue Ribbon who ironically were wearing the blue stripes.

Motor Action, who have 43 points, are now six points adrift of log leaders FC Platinum who cemented their lead at the top after beating Mambas at Mandava yesterday.

The Mighty Bulls remained static on position three with 43 points after 25 games while Dynamos, who travel to Masvingo today, are four points behind FC Platinum.
