The deregistration of the Zimbabwe National Bodybuilding and Weightlifting Association (ZNBBWA) by the Sports and Recreation Commission (SRC) in November has seen the separation between bodybuilding and weightlifting.
The bodybuilding section has since moved on and came up with an association which they have registered with SRC called National Federation of Zimbabwe Bodybuilding and Fitness.
According to the new executive committee for bodybuilding, the previous body was deregistered for failing to comply with SRC recommendations hence its dissolution on November 14. Their first mandate as new executive members take up posts is to create structures in all the 10 provinces.
Bodybuilding boasts of Merna Moore, a lady who has been winning local tournaments this year. She proceeded to represent the country in Austria in the Fitness and Bikini catergory where she came third.
