Battle of ‘boobs’ at Nigeria’s BBA auditions

BY MELISSA MPOFUIt was a battle of boobs among the hundreds of ladies who thronged the Nigeria Big Brother Africa (BBA) housemates’ casting session as the ladies were probably inspired by their home girl, Karen Igho, who won the show last year and has breast implants.

According to a Nigerian website, naijagists.com, many female contestants thronged the hall in revealing attires that displayed cleavages in order to create a “boob factor” during the casting session.

Igho, a UK graduate of Theatre Arts, pulled a daring stunt in 2007 by transforming her bust from a size 32BB to an eye popping 36DD, a move which saw other women taking it as a pre-requisite for entry into the BBA house. The superstar spent a whooping £5, 250 on her breasts in London.

Igho supported her decision to have breast implants saying: “The advantage of these boobs is that I don’t have to wear a brassiere. The breasts are in place and I’m never going to be worried about sagging. I believe every woman wants that kind of assurance — you only get it with surgery.”

She added that she knew she was pretty but she just needed cleavage.

Nigeria was one of the first countries to have the open auditions this year as they were held from March 5 to 7 at the Protea Hotel in Maryland Lagos. There was a lot of excitement and the venue was infectious as it was packed with ambitious housemates-to-be.

M-Net, the producers of the show had announced that entrants would have to double up to compete and Nigerians complied to this as they could be spotted with different partners including their lovers, brothers, sisters, aunts and friends.
