Grace Muradzikwa is the managing director of short-term insurer Nicoz  Diamond.

Muradzikwa is recognised as the first female managing director to win two IoDZ director of the year awards since their inception in 2004.

 

The Nicoz Diamond boss is credited with spearheading the formation of vision, mission and values of the short-term insurance group. Nicoz Diamond is listed on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange. Grace Muradzikwa also created the vision, mission and value statements for the regional operations in Malawi, Zambia, Angola and Uganda where Nicoz Diamond has management contracts. The Nicoz Diamond managing director gives general direction and has overall responsibility over strategy formulation for Nicoz Diamond and regional operations that the company manages. Her strategy of country diversification has helped the company cope with the challenging environment of 2008 to 2009.

Grace Muradzikwa, with over 24 years’ experience in the insurance sector, is committed to and passionate about her work, which has seen her receive numerous personal awards as well as on behalf of Nicoz Diamond. The awards were for first black female to list and head a publicly traded company in Zimbabwe, 1996 Insurance Personality of the Year, 2004 Zimbabwe Manager of the Year runner up, 2005 quoted companies Best Insurance Counter and Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce 2005 Businesswoman of The Year.

Muradzikwa sits on the boards of Nicoz Diamond, Africa University, United General Insurance (Uganda), Consolidated Farming Investments as deputy chairperson, Diamond General Insurance (Zambia), Nissan Clover Leaf Panel Beaters and Justice for Children. She is a holder of Bachelor of Administration and Master in Business Administration degrees from the University of Zimbabwe. She is also a Fellow of the Insurance Institute of South Africa.

 

Munyaradzi HwengwereMunyaradzi Hwengwere is the general manager of My Own Boss Ventures (Pvt) Ltd, a private enterprise that runs the Buy Zimbabwe Campaign.

Hwengwere is widely recognised as a communicator and broadcaster having led the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) as Group Chief Executive Officer.The former ZBC Chief is also founder of Savannah Media Centre Zimbabwe and Zambia.

A communications expert, Hwengwere has been involved as a lead consultant in the re-branding of Zanaco Bank in Zambia and Road Smart for RTSA in Zambia. He has also worked as a key adviser to the anti-asbestos campaign for Turnall Fibre Cement in Zimbabwe.

He is the creator of My Own Boss reality show, a youth entrepreneurship programme that is broadcast on ZBC in Zimbabwe and ZNBC in Zambia. The shows vision is to promote an entrepreneurial spirit in youths across the southern African region and seeks to use the experiences of leading business executives to inspire young business leaders. Mentors that have worked with My Own Boss include Nicoz Diamond managing director Grace Muradzikwa and TN Holdings group chief executive officer, Tawanda Nyambirai.

 

Mike Ndudzo

Mike Ndudzo is the general manager of the Industrial Development Corporation of Zimbabwe Ltd (IDCZ) and the chief executive officer of the group.

He holds a Bachelor of Accountancy (Honours) degree, is a Public Accountant of Zimbabwe and was the first post-independence accountant general in the finance ministry from 1986 to 1991.

Ndudzo holds the position of chairman and vice-chairman of a number of IDC’s subsidiary and associate company boards.  (He is the chairman of Chemplex Corporation, Olivine Holdings, Motec Holdings and vice-chairman of Modzone Enterprises).

He is the chairman of the Advisory Council of State Enterprises and Parastatals and the Zimbabwe Economic Policy Analysis and Research Unit (Zepar) and, he is also the co-chairman of the Steering  Committee of the National Economic Consultative Forum (Necf).

Ranga Mlambo Financial ConsultantHarare, Zimbabwe

Ranga is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and a holder of an MBA degree from the University of Zimbabwe.

He has more than 10 years experience in providing a range of financial advisory services to private sector and development sector organisations in southern Africa.  Prior to working as a consultant, Ranga held various audit and financial management positions in both the public and private sectors.

Ranga has extensive regional experience having led several consultancy assignments in Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi and Mozambique.

Eve Gadzikwa

Eve Gadzikwa is the director general of the Standards Association of Zimbabwe, a position she has held since September 2008. Her professional career spans over 20 years starting in the medical testing laboratories before she embarked on a marketing career.

Eve holds various leadership positions including vice-chairperson of the Institute of Directors, vice chairperson National Code on Corporate Governance (steering committee), and she also seats on the board of Sadcas.

 

Zacharia Mahara Tapfumanei Wazara Zacharia Wazara is best described as an international well-balanced entrepreneur and management professional with extensive experience at chief executive level in the wireless telecommunications business.

He is the founder and current group chief executive officer of the Spiritage Group, a company with diversified interests in the health, telecoms and ICT sectors.The core of his experience is founded on strong skills in strategic planning, market entry and development strategies, business development planning, human resources planning and finance.

He was an instrumental part of the pioneering team at Econet Wireless and was instrumental in developing the strategy that makes Econet the wireless giant it is today.He has acquired and developed key skills around starting multi-million dollar businesses from scratch both at local and international level, in both friendly and hostile environments.

Wazara’s personality and character have been influenced much by a strong Christian foundation which demands subscription to the fear of God, strong family values, integrity, excellence, patience, endurance, respect, understanding, servant leadership, love for people, discipline and tolerance of differences among people without accepting what is considered wrong, among others.

This forms the basis of his orientation in business conduct, and influences the structure of all relationships he gets involved in.

 

Oswell Binha Oswell Binha is widely regarded as the president of the Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce but he is also a man of a great many exploits.

Apart from being the founder and managing director of Orac Systems, a company whose core business is materials handling for all types of plants focusing on major maintenance nationwide, the 40-year-old father of four sits on a number of boards. He is a board member with Business Networking International (BNI), Empreteco Association, Chamber of Mines and the Zimbabwe Institute of Managers. He also sits on the boards of the following companies; Walda Investments, Zimbabwe Solid Waste Management Trust of Zimbabwe, Orac Systems and Okpatech Industrial supplies.

He recently took leadership of the Sadc Chamber of Commerce as its president. Binha’s professional career dates back to his attachment with Lonrho  Zimbabwe where he underwent a four-year apprenticeship at Mazoe mine. He is a trained mechanical engineer. He has vast experience as a projects engineer with an emphasis in milling, materials handling, hoisting, and underground hauling. Binha is also a trained Empretec entrepreneur, nominee and winner of the prestigious entrepreneur of the year 2005.

He swears by Wander Henderson’s quote, “The seeds that we sow will continue to touch lives because the ripple effect of goodness is multiplied many times as the years go by.”

 

Norman Murozoki ChakanetsaNorman Chakanetsa is a director — Research and Domestic in the Industry and Commerce ministry. Part of his responsibilities include conducting economic research, developing pricing policies for specified products and consumer protection through the Consumer Council of Zimbabwe (CCZ), National Incomes and Price Commission (NIPC), Standards Association of Zimbabwe (SAZ)  and the Industrial and Commercial Rent Board.

Chakanetsa has held several Senior and Middle level positions in government since 1981.

A career bureaucrat and economist, Chakanetsa has led several business missions to the following successful trade shows and exhibitions; Malawi Trade exhibition (1984), Swaziland International Trade Fair (1984), London Furniture Show (1985), Ethiopia Trade Exhibition (1985),  Mozambique International Trade Fair (1985), Kaduna International Trade Fair – Nigeria (1986), Luanda International Trade Fair – Angola (1986).

He was awarded the Freedom of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, USA for his outstanding effort in promoting trade links between the state of Arkansas and Zimbabwe. This accomplished economist has presented several papers on doing business with Zimbabwe and investment in the country. He sits on numerous boards in the country including CCZ, SAZ, NIPC and the Zimbabwe Defence Industries (ZDI).
