Bn academy coaching clinic explodes in city

Tatenda MakandaOver 70 young footballers are expected to participate in the second phase of the BN Academy holiday coaching clinic set to roar into life in Harare tomorrow.

The clinic will run from April 30 to  May 4.

The coaching clinic has been around since 1998 under the watchful eye of Bekhimpilo Nyoni, a renowned coach and instructor.

Top notch coaches like Clayton Munemo, Biggie Zuze, Yubolt Mudavanhu and Steve Chikodzi will also be in attendance.

This second phase comes hard on the heels of the first which spanned from April 23 to 27 in which 75 junior boys aged between seven and 19 years took part.

Nyoni said such clinics were the way to go if Zimbabwe was going to grow as a football powerhouse.

“The earlier you start working with the youngsters the better, the young players have to learn the basics at the earliest stage, this is how they do it in Brazil, Italy, England, Spain and other world football powerhouses,” said Nyoni.

“If we as a nation are going to go anywhere with football we must start investing in junior football development now and this is exactly what BN Academy is doing.”
