By Clayton Masekesa MUTARE — A Chimanimani man last week appeared before a Mutare magistrate after he was allegedly caught pants down raping a four-year-old girl in a kitchen hut.
It is the state case that the accused, David Tambudzani (27) of Mudziwapasi in Mutambara on June 5 this year visited a neighbour’s (name withheld) homestead and found the girl alone.
Prosecutor Nelson Makunyire said Tambudzani then asked the girl about the whereabouts of her mother. He was able to establish that the girl was alone at home.
“He then lured the girl into the kitchen hut where he forcefully had sexual intercourse with her,” said Makunyire.
However, luck ran out for Tambudzani as he was caught in the act by the young girl’s mother with his pair of trousers lowered to knee level.
He was remanded in custody and will appear in court for trial on April 21 this year.
