Stuart Stevenson passes away

Founding partner of Zimconsult, former lecturer and chairman of the Department of Rural and Urban Planning at UZ and former president of the Zimbabwe Institute of Rural and Urban Planning (ZIRUP), Stuart Stevenson, has passed away in Birmingham, UK, after a long battle with cancer.

Stevenson came to Zimbabwe in 1980, soon after independence. He went on to work as an environmental consultant with IUCN in Uganda and Zambia before joining Norconsult, with whom he was based in Kenya and then Tanzania.

Formerly married to Zimbabwe ambassador to Senegal Trudy Stevenson, he leaves behind two sons, Neil and Alex Graham, and his second wife, Julia. — Own Staff
