Bosso, as Highlanders are affectionately known, trail log leaders Dynamos by two points with six games to go.

The Bulawayo giants come into this match still smarting from the 3-0 drubbing suffered at the hands of Monomotapa last weekend.

In Mambas, Bosso face another potential slip up and Ncube’s charges are oozing with confidence after beating Hwange 2-0 in a mid-week encounter.

The team’s coach Ncube has fired warning shots at Bosso.

“If we get a fair referee, I do not see us losing to Highlanders. We need a strong referee in this game. Normally, when big teams are playing at home, referees get intimidated by the crowd,” said Ncube. “We have done our preparations for this game and the players are ready.”

As is always the case, Black Mambas will be looking up to former Dynamos player Nicholas Alifandika who is enjoying his game since joining the club.

However, Highlanders will not be easy pickings as they cannot afford any slip ups at this stage of the championship.

Striker Masimba Mambare, who has been one of the club’s best performers, said losing to Monomotapa last weekend was painful so they would not want their fans to suffer heartbreak.

“We definitely want to win the title and we cannot win it if we continue dropping points. Last weekend we lost to a better team in Monomotapa and that should not happen again,” he said.

Bosso fans will also be closely following proceedings at the Colliery where log leaders Dynamos play Hwange.

The match pits two teams that have been fighting a boardroom battle over the match they played in the first leg in which Hwange coach Nation Dube was allegedly assaulted by Dynamos bouncers.

At Rufaro, CAPS United coach Taurai Mangwiro faces his former paymasters Monomotapa in a potential thriller which will be broadcasted live on Supersport 9.

Mangwiro was fired by Monomotapa over a spate of poor results and has since found home at CAPS United where he has rejuvenated the side. Today’s matches CAPS United v Monomotapa (Rufaro), Hwange v Dynamos (Colliery), Highlanders v Black Mambas (Barbourfields), Shabanie Mine v Buffaloes (Maglas).
