The Jamaican musician is expected in the country on Thursday afternoon and will grace a gig for the youths in Chitungwiza just after arrival.

That evening, a welcome party for the artist will be held at Sports Diner International and Capleton will interact with a number of musicians that will be part of his gig.

Local musicians to perform at City Sports Centre will include Winky D, Sniper Storm, Guspy Warrior, Lady Squander, Jiggaz, Lady B and Freeman.

The line-up of DJs that are set to rock the venue is exciting. They will be led by Templeman, whose international experience always takes him to the top of the situation.

Sound masters like Judgment Yard and Mighty Ducks are billed to be among selectors of the day. Turntable talents in the form of Abra Simz, Smiley and Gary B will also grace the event.

It will be the second time for Capleton, also known as King Shango, to perform in the country after his debut visit in 2010. “The show has been dubbed Judgement Day because we want every artist to come prepared to be judged by the audience. It will probably determine who has done the best in dancehall music among local performers this year,” said one of the organisers.

“We are happy to host Capleton once again and we are hopeful that local artists will learn a lot from him.”
