About 16 Zimbabwean contestants, drawn from the country and abroad, are expected for the boot camp to be held on Saturday at the Harare International Conference Centre.

The contestants include those that have won the Face of Zimbabwe monthly titles, as well as representatives from other pageants such as Miss Universities, Miss Global, Miss Curvy and Miss Southern Africa.

During camp, the contestants will embark on several social responsibility programmes which include a clean-up campaign and charity project activities.

The participants will also be equipped with business etiquette techniques as well as tourism-related programmes.

In line with the contest’s theme: Embracing Technology in Celebrating Zimbabwe’s Beauty, organisers of the pageant have promised a unique face to the event.

Face of Zimbabwe Trust marketing director Mike Tashaya, said the pageant would fuse three elements which are beauty, technology and tourism.

He added that Zimbabweans should brace themselves for a quality show.

“We have been working tirelessly to ensure the smooth flow of the pageant. Only a week is left before the grand finale is held and we want our audience to expect a smooth-flowing event,” he said.

Main sponsors of the event, GTEL, expressed optimism about the hosting of the show. They encouraged people to participate, especially in the voting process from which GTEL Face of Zimbabwe People’s choice winner will be selected.

“We encourage public participation, particularly in the voting for the GTEL Face of Zimbabwe People’s Choice model that shall be announced on the day of the finals.

“It is our hope that the contestants who will be selected will meet public satisfaction and content, but this can only be done through public voting,” said GTEL marketing director, Robert Gonye.

Local artists, Sulumani Chimbetu, Winky D, Stunner, ExQ, Ammara Brown and Nox are expected to entertain guests at the event.
