The director of the entity, Patson Chimbodza said they lost US$3 538 on the day.

He said they ended up paying for numerous expenses. “This loss could have been avoided if all pledges had been paid,” said Chimbodza.

“The expenses amounted to US$8 314 vis a vis the gate takings which amounted to US$4 776. “The proceeds of this charity showcase were intended to benefit the community, eyeing the needy and basketcases of our current and yesteryear soccer and music icons.”

He however, said his offer to assist musician Tedious Matsito, who is struggling still stood.

“As per our promise, Chipaz Promotions will assist Matsito with US$500 as he was meant to be the main beneficiary of the event,” he said.

He said they were now planning to take the event to Mutare’s Sakubva Stadium on Africa Day, May 25, since there was no winner this time around.
