The one-off show is scheduled for March 28 at the Harare International Conference Centre. Speaking to Standardlife&style last week, Max Mugaba, director of May 7 Entertainment, said he had high expectations for the tour.

“Mi Casa is one of the most sought-after musical groups in South Africa. We thought that by hosting the group, we could give Zimbabwean music lovers an Easter Eve’s treat,” said Mugaba.

“We have signed the contracts and we are currently working on other paper work and engaging supporting acts, although we already have our targets.

“We have so far confirmed Tehn Diamond, Simba Tags and Synik as supporting acts.”

He said they intended to bring on board Winky D, Ammara Brown, Jnr Brown, Ba Shupi, Nox, Tatea da MC and Trevor Dongo, among others. May 7 Entertainment is famed for bringing Zahara to Zimbabwe last year. Mi Casa Music is a three-piece house band based in Johannesburg. The band consists of pianist and producer Dr Duda, vocalist J’Something and trumpeter Mo-T.

The group released a debut album titled Micasa Music just after its formation. The album went on to scoop accolades at the 18th edition of the annual MTN South African Music Awards.

They have released several other singles that are hits in and around South Africa after receiving serious attention in 2011. They got an opportunity for a grand arena appearance when they performed at Barack Obama’s second inauguration ceremony in Washington DC last month.
