“Love your body as it is”, is a popular mantra that I go with, most times, but I am sure that just like some of you, there are days you wake up wishing for a perkier butt or bust, flat tummy, slimmer ankles or longer legs. by heather r
Plastic surgery is not a popular option on this end of the world, so the next best thing to do is use your wardrobe to give your body the desired look.
- I have a few temporary fixes for you:
Narrow shoulders Pear-shaped women have shoulders that are significantly narrower than their hips. To balance this out, buy and wear tops with:
- l Shoulder pads
- l Frills around the sleeves
- l Puffy sleeves
The more detail the better. Everything in moderation, though.
Small bust One of the major differences between a man and a woman is the bust, so the lack of a substantially sized one is bound to leave you feeling as though you are not woman enough. Apart from breast-enhancing bras, you can play around with your wardrobe:
- l Frills down the front of the top
- l A loosely tied bow around the neck
- l Volume-adding blouses
Big bust The big-busted should flatter the bust without looking like they are larger than life:
- lAvoid short-sleeved tops because they make you look big all over
- lLong, three-quarter or no sleeves at all give you some curves
- l Flowing tops with a slight boxy cut are very flattering
- l Avoid round necks and ruffles
- lV-necks elongate the chest area, which is flattering for you
A flatter tummy Between eating and living life, the bulk of us do not have the time to work on our tummies, so here is a way to cheat:
- l The peplum frill acts like a flap over the belly, camouflaging the abdomen
- l Empire waistlines are another great tool for hiding the belly. Just make sure you don’t end up looking pregnant.
- l Control top underwear can work as a temporary tummy tuck.
